Soldeu ski sector: Serrat de la Posa red run

SOLDEU-EL TARTER SKI AREA

On the Slopes
SET’s ski sectors are focused around extensive mid-altitude service areas at the top of each access-point gondola, high above the resort villages.
Local Sectors
There are three distinct sectors to the local ski area:

Soldeu  The ski area begins at the far side of a deep ravine which runs parallel to the main through-road, with two blue and two black pistes making home runs back to the foot of the village via a wide skiable bridge high over the river. There’s a fast 6-seater chairlift at the bottom of these home-run pistes, but the principal uplift is provided by a fast gondola departing from a spacious base station at the upper end of the village; both lifts provide direct access to the beginners’ area and all onward pistes and links. The extent and variety of the ski area is vast: with an excellent beginners’ zone, plenty of long cruising blues and fast reds, mild blacks and open freeriding terrain; all well-linked with the neighbouring sectors.

El Tarter  A gondola provides fast uplift directly from the car park at El Tarter’s base station, up to the beginners’ zone and main services area at the lip of a wide snowbowl above; there’s also a parallel-running chairlift nearby, providing similar uplift from the base of the home-run pistes. The sheltered El Tarter snowbowl provides something for all abilities and is the main focus of this sector, centred around one of the best terrain parks in the Pyrenees. One additional lift journey is then all that’s needed to reach the neighbouring sectors.

Canillo  The nearest ski area, at El Forn, is served by a modern gondola based within strolling distance of the village centre, but there are no home-run pistes.
El Forn’s central snowfields are graded green and are served by easy-to-use lifts; there’s also an enjoyable long blue and a fast black from the ridge above, served by a chairlift which also provides a link towards the neighbouring El Tarter sector.
