How accurate are the SkiRide Atlas resort maps?
The SkiRide Atlas resort maps are the most precise & comprehensive such maps currently available: all properties & features that appear on SkiRide maps have been personally observed & measured during on-site surveys, our collated geo-databases of latitude & longitude records are accurate to within 3 metres, precise enough to distinguish between individual chalet rooms if need be!
Occasionally, some specific information about a particular property or business may have changed following a very recent transfer of ownership/management; such details will be updated swiftly & regularly on an ongoing basis.
Are all properties & businesses identified & listed for each resort?
We endeavour to include all known hotels & catered chalets, but as a rule we generally only list those that are available to book via reputable established bonded agencies and/or tour operators; we may omit some chalets if they are intentionally discreet owner-operated properties, are located within principally private residential buildings, or if we are unable to confirm that some form of acceptable consumer protection is provided for direct bookings.
As for shops, bars & restaurants, we simply list a selection of the most popular key venues in the A–Z listings; we do however try to record exact locations of all commercial units during survey visits, so do please contact us if you're searching for a specific venue, we probably know exactly where it is.
Are the online SkiRide Atlas maps compatible with all browsers?
Yes, including tablets & mobiles: we utilise Google Maps API, with The SkiRide Atlas map overlays & geo-data intregrated as interactive custom layers, so the application platform is always up-to-date and optimised for compatibility with the widest possible selection of browsers & devices.
What materials does the artist use for the original cartography artwork drawings?
All of our master-map artwork drawings are created using archival-grade pencils & micro-pigment ink on premium-quality archival-grade art paper.
Specifically: Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils; Sakura Pigma Micron pens; Fabriano Artistico HP 300gsm 100% cotton-rag paper.
What are the features of the framed option for map-art purchases?
The map artwork is float-mounted on off-white active-archival mount board in a slender slate-grey aluminium frame, glazed with glass*
*acrylic glazing will be used if shipping is requested for delivery addresses that lie beyond our by-hand courier service areas.
