Sector: Les Crêtes
A handy queue-jump alternative to the Jandri 1 Gondola.
Based at the Alpe de Mont-de-Lans end of the main base-area slopes, and easy to reach from the
Chemin des Demoiselles and
Valentin slopes; it is also accessible via the cross-slopes traverse tracks from the central/southern end of the base area.
The ground surrounding the lift terminal is slightly raised, so you need to maintain momentum to reach the turnstiles when approaching on-piste from the slopes above. The queue platform is surfaced with dry-ski matting to allow access even when snow cover is sparse.
The lift travels up over the
Valentin piste, then underneath the crossing line of the
Village chairlift (27) just before cresting the ridge; the entrance to the
Valentin is visible immediately below at that point, dropping off the traversing track of the
Chemin des Demoiselles route.
On Arrival: at the upper terminal there is a good view down into the Thuit Coomb (beyond the fence ahead): dismount to the right and head off past the adjacent information post & piste-patrol hut to reach the nearby Ancontres button tow (30), for the easiest link onwards up the slope towards the main sector interchange hub at
Les Crêtes 2100; or, veer down to the skier's right, parallel to the line of this [Belle Étoile] chairlift, in order to reach the nearby
Crêtes chairlift (28) which links with
Le Diable 2400; or, bypass that lift to start the
Chemin des Demoiselles and/or the
Valentin, leading back to Les Deux Alpes' base area.
