Sector: Le Diable
An old-fashioned ‘bubble’ gondola, colloquially known as the ‘Red Eggs’, providing the principal uplift into the core ski area from the Alpe de Venosc quarter of town.
The base-terminal station is at the southern end of the rue des Vikings, on the corner with rue Saint Claude. There is a ski-bus stop right outside, and a pisted link-track from the base-area slopes to within a few metres of the access ramp.
Being the key access lift from this quarter of the resort, the Diable is often very busy in the mornings. To ease the pressure a little and to maximise capacity, there is a single-rider queue-jump line to help fill the cabins; that helps a bit, but do expect long queues!
The lift runs horizontally for the first part of the journey, then climbs up over the route of the
Diable run, giving sweeping views over the entire resort and the main base-area slopes to the looker's left, and over the Vénéon Valley towards the imposing peaks of La Muzelle and the Aiguille de Venosc to the looker's right.
On Arrival: at the upper terminal, exit ahead-right to emerge next to the excellent
Le Diable au Coeur bar/restaurant. For a guide to onward routes & links, please consult our orientation guide to
