LES DEUX ALPES:  FACILITIES FOR CHILDREN

Snow Gardens (Jardins des Neiges)
Outdoor ‘Snow Garden’ fun-zones, exclusively for children, are provided at three separate locations on the main base-area slopes: one nearest the Petites Vikings button tow (13), one in front of the Jandri lifts (25 & 55) base stations, and one next to the Champamé button tow (3).

All of the sites are close to the town centre and resort services, and all are easily accessible on foot. Equipped with easy-to-use conveyor-belt and/or rope-tow surface lifts and colourful simple obstacles, they are controlled by the ESF and ESI ski schools, both of which have teams of specialist nursery ski instructors dedicated to introducing children [over 3 years old] to the fun-filled world of snowsports.

Lift passes are required to use these facilities, but these are free for all children under 5 years old. The service is bookable for half-day, full-day, or weekly periods; equipment hire is not included in admission prices.

Ski Schools
Most ski schools also offer standard skiing lessons out on the main beginners' slopes for children aged over 6 years of age. Tuition fees for children are generally around 20 per cent cheaper than those for adults.

Crèche
As well as these outdoor facilities, Les Deux Alpes also has two dedicated crèches:

Clos des Fonds Crèche  Well-equipped day-nursery, for infants aged 6–24 mths. The children are supervised by a qualified nursery team (inc. a paediatric nurse), and take part in a variety of leisure and learning activities.
Available on a half-day or full-day basis; meals can also be provided.
Must be booked at least one day in advance. Open 08:30–17:30hrs.

Le Bonhomme de Neige Centre  Daycare and activities centre for children aged 2–6 and 6–12 years old. Children are supervised by a qualified nursery team and participate in a wide range of educational and leisure activities: including athletic games, arts/crafts, music, and discovering the natural environment.
Available on a half-day or full-day basis; meals can also be provided.
Must be booked at least one day in advance, by no later than 11:30hrs for the following day. Open 08:30–17:30hrs.

NB: for the first two days you will normally only be allowed to enrol your children for half-day slots; this is to help the children settle in.

Outdoor Activities
Please ensure that your children are equipped with the correct technical clothing, gloves, hat, proper sunglasses or goggles, and sun protection lotion; helmets are also strongly recommended. It is also a good idea to pack handkerchiefs & snacks for them too, and to put your contact details into one of their zipped pockets.

Vaccinations & Medical Records
Resort childcare centres may ask for proof that your child has had certain vaccinations. You are advised to contact them well in advance of your trip to ascertain the exact requirements.
