Sectors: Pied Moutet (Vallée Blanche) & Les 2 Alpes 1800
Tucked away at the quieter northern end of Les Deux Alpes, close to the main access road, and starting just next to the base terminals of the
Petite Aiguille (2) and
La Côte (2a) chairlifts.
Starting off as a wide blue-equivalent cruise, the route then funnels to the skier's right on to a narrow traverse track under the line of the
Mont-de-Lans chairlift (1) and into the edge of the birch woods above Monts-de-Lans village.
The final section drops on to the fall line again towards this chairlift's base terminal.
This terraced hillside often has sparse snow cover, revealing a couple of little ditches and clumps of vegetation to negotiate in order to reach the lift.
The run is worth a go at least once when snow conditions allow, if just for the novelty factor of riding down to this lowest extremity of the domain.
