Medical Centres
There are well-equipped trauma and X-ray suites available at two separate privately-run medical centres in Les Deux Alpes: one on avenue de la Muzelle in the town centre; the other on the rue des Vikings in the Alpe De Venosc quarter, near the Diable gondola (23) base station and directly accessible from the pistes.
Both are sited next to the main access roads and within easy reach of the resort's helicopter pad, in case emergency transport to hospital is required.

In cases of serious injury or illness, the medical centre staff will contact your insurance company, although you will have to pay on-site for any initial costs
(if excluded by any excess clauses on your policy).
Make sure that your
wintersports travel insurance covers heli-rescue, piste rescue and ambulance transport, as well as medical and hospital expenses;
the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) agreement only covers medical treatment at public healthcare facilities.
