Venosc village boutiques

Traditional Village Life
The tranquil ‘village’ of Venosc is formed of a commune of nine adjacent hamlets, terraced together on the sheltered wooded slopes of the Vénéon Valley, 650 m (2132 ft) below the southern end of Les Deux Alpes.

Here, local craftspeople have developed a charming community of arts & crafts boutiques in the quaint cobbled streets. An absolute contrast to the brashness of the ski resort, offering a glimpse of the traditional soul of the Oisans region.

Venosc is linked with Les Deux Alpes by the Venosc gondola; this is automatically included on all lift passes, otherwise you can purchase a round-trip ticket directly at the gondola station. The upper-terminal station is located at the bottom of rue Sainte Luce in the Alpe de Venosc quarter of Les Deux Alpes.
The lift operates daily 07:45–19:00hrs, the journey takes 7½ minutes.

NB: Monday is closing day for all of the shops in Venosc.
On arrival at the gondola base station in the Vénéon Valley: exit via the steps to the roadside and turn right, then walk uphill on the waymarked woodland trail by the stream to reach the village; this walk takes approximately ten minutes.
Local Tourist Office & Museum
The Venosc Tourist Office is located directly across the road in front of the gondola base station. The office also houses a small exhibition focused on local history and traditional life in the area, including a feature covering this region's once important slate-quarrying industry.
