ARCALÍS:  DIRECTIONS BY ROAD

Getting There
With no accommodation at the ski area itself, all visitors approach Arcalís via the CG3 road along the picturesque valley from Ordino.

Vallnord’s ski-bus service runs from Andorra la Vella to La Massana, and vice versa; then runs from La Massana to/from Arcalís, via Ordino. The company also operates a line connecting La Massana with Arinsal (via Erts).
Most tour operators also organise excursions from Arinsal and La Massana, but the most convenient way to reach Arcalís is with your own vehicle or in a rental car.

Driving to Arcalís
From La Massana, follow the signs to Ordino from the roundabout at the upper end of town beside the [La Massana-Pal] gondola base station. It is then an easy 2 km (1¼ mile) drive to Ordino, before swinging left to follow the roadsigns for ‘Arcalís Station’ via the hamlets of Sornàs, Ansalonga, La Cortinada, Arans, Llorts, Les Salines and El Serrat. If you want to stay closer to the slopes, there are a few quiet hotels dotted along this valley road.

Nearing the ski station, the road passes through a tunnel to emerge close to the base lodge and main parking area. There are two car parks on the right at this level and, if road conditions are good, you can continue driving up to further parking bays closer to a second [upper] base lodge and roadside piste access points.

Lift pass kiosks are situated at roadside level at both the lower and upper base lodges. The main chairlifts serving this Cercle d’Arcalís sector, and making the link with the further Coma sector, are just above the roadside close to the lower base station. From the upper parking area you can join the pistes directly from the roadside; button tows serve the slopes here, and another chairlift links with the Coma sector, departing from just above the upper base lodge area.
