L'HORTELL BAR & CAFETERIA (££)

This is the self-service restaurant at the lower base lodge building.
It offers a set-course daily specials menu, basic grills,
pasta dishes and snacks.
The first floor saloon is the main bar and snack area; the second floor has the full self-service selection.

The atmosphere is canteen-like, buzzing with station personnel who also have their offices in this building.

A lovely little attic space on the top floor is set aside as an interior picnic area;
no one will mind if you take restaurant meals up here, as long as you return trays, plates and cutlery to the main restaurant level when you have finished.
