ARCALÍS:  OPTIONS FOR NON-SKIERS

Access for Non-Skiers
The ski lifts at Arcalís are not accessible by pedestrians. However, since no ski-lift connections are required to reach Arcalís base station, it is easy for non-skiers to travel here for a day out with their skiing companions.

To be honest though, there isn't much for non-skiers to do. The two base lodges offer a couple of bars and restaurants, and the upper lodge has sunny terraces overlooking the children's Snow Garden and the pistes, with great views of the impressive peaks beyond, meaning that mixed ability groups can easily meet up for lunch and refreshments breaks together.

Hiking to the Head of the Valley
One idea to really make the most of your visit, if your fitness level is up to it, is to hike or snowshoe up into the Coma Snowbowl from the end of the road above Arcalís base station. This is accessible by car during the summer and is the route of La Basera piste during the ski season. Snowshoeing equipment and guided walks are available to book on-site at the base-station sports shop.

Caution
Stay off to the sides of the pistes when venturing on-foot into the ski area.
