Sector: Pal
This route simply follows the natural contour line from the top of
La Botella chairlift and traverses all the way across the face of Pic del Cubil, to provide the link from the Coll de la Botella into the core Pal sector.
There are actually a couple of routes: one high and straight across the face of the mountainside, crossing/joining this sector's main red pistes; the other lower, wider and more regularly groomed, giving access to
La Comellada run & FreeRide Area.
Strictly speaking, the lower route is called the
Camí Inferior.
Both tracks traverse diagonally across Pic del Cubil, cutting across the paths of two button tows and four red pistes: so be aware and remain alert for lift/piste traffic. Neither track is too tricky though, and thus provide competent novices with routes from Arinsal to the
Bella Italia bar/restaurant at
Pla de la Cot and to Pal's base lodge area at
La Caubella. Intermediates can drop off en route on to any of the red runs, for a more challenging ride in the same general direction.
NB:
Camí is the Catalan word for a ‘track’ or ‘trail’.
