LA CAUBELLA 1950: BASE LODGE BARS & RESTAURANTS
Edifici El Planell
The base lodge at La Caubella
sits on a wide forested plateau, overlooking the main El Planell beginners' zone
. There is a good-sized piste-side terrace on the ground floor, popular with slope users and non-skiing visitors alike and buzzing with activity for most of the day.
Drinks & waffles are sold from a piste-level kiosk, plus there are drinks vending machines dotted around for handy grab-&-go options. Exterior stairs lead up to the first floor services, and a couple of wide doorways lead directly from the terrace into a large ground floor saloon and to the heart of the lodge building, towards the self-service restaurant and to the public WCs. There are some arcade video-games in the lobby area by the interior stairwell; the stairs lead up to the lodge's foyer on the car park level, which houses a souvenir shop & photo service, an Internet station and the entrance to the Cafeteria Caubella.

The main saloon offers a full bar service, plus basic tapas & cakes; along with a range of salads, pastas & grills. Table service is available, or you can order snacks from the central till point.
A separate, bright, self-service buffet dining room overlooks the roadside plaza at the far side of the building, reached via a short corridor past the end of the bar.
EL PLANELL SELF-SERVICE (££)
A basic canteen on the ground floor, to the rear of the central lobby: offering a selection of salads, hot meals, simple puddings, plus canned/bottled drinks.
This underground space can become very noisy and has very little natural light.
