Sector: Pal
Pal's only black run, bordered to the skier's right by lightly wooded glades which are designated as a
‘FreeRide Area’.
Both are accessed from the
Camà Superior link-piste, in the area by the fence about 100 m (109 yd) in front of the arrival point of
La Botella chairlift.
In good snow conditions, the most challenging drop-in for
La Comellada is to enter via a gap in the fence highest to the skier's left. Even from the wide main entrance, the slope is immediately steep and usually mogulled all the way down this straight upper section.
The
FreeRide Area has exactly the same profile, but covers all the ungroomed area next to, and amongst, the woods to the skier's right.
Both routes finish just above the roadside below, then traverse parallel to the road via a long, flat, link-track towards
El Cubil chairlift and
La Serra button tow.
These runs are definitely worth a visit, but the lengthy and laborious slog out to the lifts dulls the urge to ride repeat circuits.
