After pausing to take in the spectacular views, your prime routes off the summit of Pic del Cubil are on the wide red-graded slopes on the face of the mountain, with plenty of possibilities for variant lines over this open playground.
For the Cubil piste
, ride directly down the fall-line parallel to the lifts, keeping to the skier's left closest to the line of the short Els Coms button tow. It is also possible to ride across the ungroomed inter-piste areas throughout this lightly wooded terrain. It is an enjoyable quick blast down the face, finishing with a veer to the skier's left to link with Els Coms button tow at the tree line below.
To continue on to the Coms
, swing to the skier's right instead; towards the line of the rising 6-seater El Cubil chairlift
, where the Cubil piste
splices seamlessly into this challenging fall-line descent housing the ‘Bumps Area’, Pal's permanent mogul zone. Following this thigh-burning, knee-bashing bumps section, the Coms
then eases off to join the diagonal El Gall piste
; either follow this out to the skier's left, or carefully cross straight over for the final [red-grade] pitch to the foot of the slopes at the roadside Els Fontanals level. This final section is shared with La Cot & Fontanals
, with excellent links to El Cubil chairlift
and La Serra button tow
