Sector: Pal
Vallnord's most important recent development was the installation [in 2004] of this gondola connecting La Massana town with Pal's base lodge area at La Caubella, effectively grafting the town on as a ready-made resort.
The base station is located at the upper end of the town, at the junction of the road to Erts, Pal and Arinsal. The building houses lift pass sales kiosks and a Vallnord tourist information office, and has an adjacent 900-place car park.
Further development on the site will include a theatre and a cinema.
On Arrival: the arrival point at La Caubella is a short stroll from the ski school and base lodge buildings, with great views over the base area and up towards the main slopes on Pic del Cubil from the arrival terrace outside the station platform (weather permitting). This upper station also houses the
Baby Club crèche playrooms and is just next to the children's
Snow Garden.
