Sector: Arinsal
A good fast red, sweeping out over the lower reaches of Pic Alt de la Capa, beginning from the ridge-run along from the
Port Negre saddle.
The entrance is off the [skier's] lefthand side of the ridge, just before the point where the link-piste veers to the skier's right towards La Capa button tow. The top section is immediately steep and has a good red-grade slope angle. There are two main options for the descent:
• veer immediately to the skier's right to traverse across the mountainside to access the
FreeRide Area on the open face of Pic Alt de la Capa; or
• simply take the direct pisted fall-line for a fast workout, finishing with a good link to
El Coll button tow below on the skier's left; otherwise continue straight on at the bottom to flow on to the main
Port Vell &
Margarida pistes, which will take you towards the
Port Negre chairlift and the
MexicObelix bar/restaurant area.
The actual route of La Pala (and the neighbouring
Tub del Coll route) vary slightly each season depending on snow cover.
