LA TOSSA CHAIRLIFT

Journey Information:
Technical data will be added in the next edition
Sector:  Arinsal
Based immediately to the looker's left of Arinsal's principal Les Fonts chairlift, next to the Arinsal base lodge, this fixed 4-seater provides uplift to the mid-altitude slopes of the upper snowbowl and a link towards the Port Negre chairlift.
NB: a tool point is fixed to the fence overlooking the car park.

The lift pass control turnstiles are shared with the 6-seater Les Fonts, so queues are to be expected first thing in the morning; but the queuing area is fairly adequate and the uplift capacity of the two lifts soon disperses the crowds.
This area is quite flat, so you need a short skate or stroll to reach the get-on point.

On Arrival:  at the top, dismount to the right to start La Tossa or to take the blue-graded link track over to join the Margarida (a variant of the main Port Vell run); the Port Negre chairlift is then just a short cruise below, linking to this sector's uppermost slopes and to the upper station of the [Arinsal-Pal] cable car.

It is also possible to go off to the left immediately after dismounting from La Tossa chairlift, for the short hike up to the ridge above. This off-piste diversion is well worth the effort on powder days: you can ride along the wooded ridge-line route of the old La Tossa draglift which used to serve this area, to seek out steep & deep drop-offs through the glades above the MexicObelix area and return to the base lodge level via the enjoyable La Tossa piste.
