Sector: Soldeu
Reached by taking the same flat ridge traverse shared with the
Llebre run, from the summit of the Tosa dels Espiolets, before dropping off to the skier's left. Soldeu's entire
mid-altitude services hub area is then visible below-right as you descend on this short and relatively easy black slope.
In many ways the
Cabirol is very similar to the nearby
Mufló & Falcó runs (El Tarter sector), yet it remains within the Soldeu sector as it exits on to the Espiolets Plateau. At the bottom of the slope, you run out close to the base terminal for the Escola button tow (useful for gaining height to reach the services level):
either take that, or swing to the skier's left to head towards El Tarter via the gentle
Gall de Bosc piste; or, best of all, carefully glide straight across the lower reaches of the plateau, towards the upper terminal of the Bosc button tow ahead.
This latter option is very flat, but is just about manageable without you needing to skate; it links with the
Salvans & Torrallardona runs, which start to the skier's right of the Bosc tow. Linking with either of these good fast reds makes this whole route worthwhile, and takes you towards the
base station at Soldeu village.
