Sector: Canillo
The base station building houses a multi-storey car park, equipment hire shops, exhibition gallery, medical centre, Fun Food restaurant & Espress'Oh! café, lockers, Grandvalira information desk & lift pass kiosks, as well as administration offices for Grandvalira's parent company. The gondola platforms are on the uppermost floor, accessible by lift and/or escalator.
On Arrival: at the upper terminal at El Forn, you walk straight out on to the top of the slopes: all on-piste services & catering facilities for this sector are also on this level, housed in the buildings sweeping round from the gondola area and over to the looker's ahead-right, overlooking the pistes.
The fixed 4-seater Junior chairlift arrives close to this [upper] gondola terminal, with the nearest pistes running parallel down each side of the chairlift to its base terminal below. The
Portella chairlift, linking towards the neighbouring El Tarter sector, is also at the base of these central slopes.
If you miss the last link-lift back from the other sectors, don't panic! Descend to the nearest village base station to get a bus or taxi back to Canillo.
