Sector: El Tarter
The main ski lift serving the core of El Tarter's huge snowbowl, rising to the summit of the
Tossal de la Llosada which looms centrally above this sector; allowing onward links towards the Canillo & Soldeu sectors, and towards Pas de la Casa via the Grau Roig sector.
The lift departs from a flat basin in front of the Riba Escorxada services building; there is a conveyor belt at the get-on point making it easy to mount.
The entire snowbowl stretches out below & around you on the journey up, with tantalising views of the seriously steep couloirs & cliff jumps to the looker's right as you approach the top.
On Arrival: at the upper terminal, dismount ahead-left and go to the far side of the other [
Assaladors] chairlift terminal to reach the
Cortalets link (for the quickest link towards Grau Roig) or the
Solana; alternatively, dismount to the right for the
Oreneta & Teixó and/or
Guineu runs and to head towards the Canillo sector; or, dismount to the left and U-turn down to start the
Gall de Bosc, and/or the
Miguel and
Llop. This latter option also gives a slightly more efficient start to the Teixó and Guineu, and is the best choice if you are heading for the Llosada cliffs & couloirs (advanced riders only).
