Medical Centres
Well-equipped trauma and X-ray suites are located at both Canillo and Soldeu gondola base stations, as well as at the foot of the lower slopes at El Tarter base area (nearest to the Hotel Llop Gris).
Special stretcher cabins are mounted on the gondola cables to bring accident victims safely down from the upper pistes. The medical centres are close to the access roads and helipads, in case emergency transport to hospital is required.
In cases of serious injury or illness, the medical centre staff will contact your insurance company, although you will have to pay on-site for any initial costs
(if excluded by any excess clauses on your policy).
Make sure that your
wintersports travel insurance covers heli-rescue, piste rescue and ambulance transport, as well as medical and hospital expenses.
