Sector: El Tarter
A bright and attractive self-service restaurant on the uppermost floor of the main services building on the
Riba Escorxada plain.
Tucked away in the eaves, above the bustling Espress'Oh! café and Fun Food canteen, this more secluded dining area is carpeted to help minimise noise levels, and has exposed wood beams and plenty of natural daylight.
Despite being a simple self-service venue, it feels more like a proper restaurant; with a trattoria pizza section, and even a small sheltered roof terrace for al fresco dining on fair-weather days.
The self-service selection includes a basic range of salads, pastas, grilled meats, and usually one fish dish, all with a choice of vegetables; a selection of simple puddings; plus bottled/canned drinks. Good value set-menu specials are available.
The ground-floor café and fast-food canteen share the main large terrace in front of this building, plus another large piste-side terrace on the lower ground floor; both are served by Xirixuca snack kiosks, the larger one on the lower level has some interior seating.
There are lots of gear racks next to the terraces, some have coin-operated locks. The main chairlifts, serving El Tarter's snowbowl and linking towards the other Grandvalira sectors, are just a short stroll from the terraces; as are the Riba
beginners' zone and the
Esquirol home run to
El Tarter base station.
