Sector: El Tarter
El Tarter's Freestyle Snowpark is the largest of Grandvalira's three terrain parks;
it is also widely regarded as being the biggest & best in the entire Pyrenees!
It is situated just above the
Riba Escorxada plain, immediately to the looker's right of (and served by) the fast 6-seater
Tosa Espiolets chairlift; a secondary lift, the
Font Roges button tow, also provides uplift on these slopes.
If you are riding over from Soldeu, the best way to reach the park is to take the
Solana chairlift: dismount to the right at the upper terminal and then veer to the skier's left over the [flat] Tosa dels Espiolets ridge, following the
Esquirol run down to the park's entrance.
Much thought and effort has gone into the construction and layout of the park. Although it's geared up to offer more advanced riders a serious terrain playground, Grandvalira are aware that the majority of their visitors are early intermediates & beginners, therefore the park has been designed to offer something to suit riders of all ability levels. There is a novices' section to the skier's left just as you enter the park, equipped with low rails, boxes & training jumps. The main park is straight in to the skier's right from the entrance; put your best posing head on, everyone on the chairlift is watching!
