SOLANA CHAIRLIFT

8½ Minutes Journey1833 m (2005 yd) Long
2700 Passengers/Hour
Sector:  Soldeu
The principal link lift in the upper Soldeu sector, providing access to the wide slopes on the Solana del Forn, and facilitating onward links into the neighbouring El Tarter sector via the fast reds & black runs off the Tosa dels Espiolets ridge;
Grandvalira's El Tarter snowpark is also directly accessible on-piste from this ridge (via the Esquirol piste).

On Arrival:  the lift's upper terminal is sited a little way above the flat col on this often exposed ridge, on the skier's righthand side of the passing Gall de Bosc piste: dismount straight ahead and carefully cross this wide piste/ridge to go ahead-left [red] or ahead-right [blue, reds & blacks] to head into El Tarter's snowbowl.

To stay in the Soldeu sector, and/or to head towards the links into the Grau Roig sector, dismount to the right and either join the passing Gall de Bosc piste to flow down to the col, where you then funnel down to the skier's right on to the slopes of the Solana del Forn (heading for the Duc, Ós and/or Fura pistes);  or, U-turn to the right on dismount to start the short steep Cucut descent off the ridge.
Another option is to dismount to the left and skate round to the far side of the lift attendant's hut, to drop off the lip of the ridge on the steeper Trencalós run.
