Sector: Soldeu
The key link lift from the Soldeu sector towards the Grau Roig sector; also serving a couple of short but sweet red pistes and the off-piste flanks of the Serra de les Solanelles ridge. The track-like route to the looker's left, cut into the mountainside and twisting down from the ridge, is the
Obac Solana.
On Arrival: at the upper terminal: U-turn to the right on dismount to drop back off the ridge on the steep
Obagot I; U-turning to the left on dismount gives access to the
Obagot II, a slightly less severe variation to the skier's left.
For all other routes, dismount to the left and ride along the ridge towards the nearby arrival point of the 6-seater
Pla de les Pedres Soldeu chairlift: from that point, the quickest way into the Grau Roig sector is via the short steep blue-graded link off to the skier's right.
The vistas from this altitude are expansive:
back over Soldeu's Solana del Forn slopes to one side of the ridge and, in the opposite direction, over the Cubil Valley towards the Grau Roig sector; giving you a great opportunity for onward route-planning. The cable car station on the neighbouring summit is the Funicamp from Encamp town; the chairlift serving that same peak is the Pla de les Pedres Grau Roig.
