Sector: Soldeu
The sole chairlift serving Soldeu's lower slopes: departing from the bottom of the home-run
Ós,
Bosc Fosc,
Avet, and
Slalom runs; at the far side of the wide pisted bridge across the ravine below Soldeu village.
It runs parallel to the line of the
Soldeu gondola, and likewise provides fast uplift to the
Espiolets Plateau; it therefore provides a handy queue-jump in the mornings when the gondola is at its busiest.
To reach this chairlift from the gondola base station, first take a peek out of the windows at the rear of the station to make sure it is running, then take a lift (elevator) down to the lowest floor of the building and simply stroll out across the bridge to the get-on point.
On Arrival: at the Espiolets Plateau, the gondola station is immediately to the looker's right and the
Espiolets services building is immediately to the looker's left; the
ski school classes meeting points are lined up on the plateau ahead, the school's main office and
crèche are in the
Gall de Bosc restaurants' building furthest over to the looker's right, past the gondola station.
The
Avet run drops directly under the line of this chairlift: the steepest and highest start point is just next to the upper terminal; alternatively, there is a less severe [pisted] entrance behind the gondola station.
To move out into the main ski area from the Espiolets Plateau, either head off to the looker's right and go past the ski school office and its adjacent restaurants in order to access the
Llebre,
Salvans, and
Torrallardona runs (there dropping away to the skier's right on to the face of the mountain back in the direction of Soldeu), or to join the gentle
Gall de Bosc piste linking into the neighbouring El Tarter sector; or, ride off ahead-left on dismount from the chairlift, out in front of the nearby Espiolets terrace, and take the wide
Astoret piste towards the
Solana chairlift for all onward links.
