Sector: El Tarter
The gondola rises from the main car park area at
El Tarter base station, at the bottom of the
Esquirol run, about 200 m (219 yd) away from the central services buildings; there is a pisted track down from the services area, providing a link to the gondola from the other two home-run pistes (the
Gall de Bosc and the
Aliga).
Ski school information &
lift pass kiosks are located at the bottom of the steps up from the car park.
The gondola cabins have no proper seats, only hip rests, but it's a quick journey with good views: on a clear day you can make out the parallel line of the Soldeu gondola further up the valley; the piste crossing beneath you at various point through the forest is the
Esquirol.
On Arrival: at the upper terminal, the large
Pi de Migdia restaurants building is immediately to your left, and the slopes begin directly ahead: clear this arrival area quickly and watch out for piste traffic coming from looker's left as you move out on to the snow.
The main services buildings, ski school,
beginners' zone, and onward ski lifts are about 150 m (164 yd) away on the central
Riba Escorxada plain below, an easy on-piste glide down from the gondola level.
If you descend to El Tarter using this 2-way gondola, the exit ramp is off to your left on arrival at the base terminal, down to the car park level; an easy stroll across the car park takes you to the base station services buildings, or to the main road and towards the residential part of the village.
