ISSUES WITH DOWNLOADS

Compatibility
TXTguides eBooks are mobile ‘apps’, compatible with the Java™ operating system found on most standard mobiles.
But, all phones/networks operate differently, so we cannot guarantee that your particular handset will be compatible.

OVER-THE-AIR DOWNLOADS

Downloading  Please check first that your mobile is compatible with Java™ applications before you attempt to download TXTguides files.
Ski-Ride don't charge for TXTguides, but your network provider may charge you for data-transfer. Each TXTguides file is less than 180 kilobytes.
If you are using a Pay-As-You-Go phone, you must have sufficient credit available to cover the data-transfer for web browsing plus file download.
Once you arrive at ski-ride.mobi go to the ‘Get TXTguides’ page to view the available titles, then select a title to begin the download procedure.
Please note that your network provider may charge you for data-transfer even if you cannot install the TXTguides files.

PHONE MEMORY CAPACITY

Saving TXTguides  During the download/transfer procedure, your phone will prompt you to save your chosen TXTguides files in one of your phone's folders: your Games or Applications folders are best. Sometimes, only the ‘Others’ or ‘Downloads’ folders may be available; these are fine, you can install the files to your Games or Applications folder afterwards.
Your phone may only be able to store a few downloads, in which case you may need to delete some previous downloads in order to accommodate TXTguides. Otherwise, providing that you have sufficient memory space on your phone, you can save the whole library of TXTguides; meaning you can travel with all the titles needed to cover even the largest linked ski areas.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Mobile phone handsetBilling  If you are on contract billing, any charges for SMS link texts, WAP browsing and/or data-transfer will appear on your next bill or statement; if your mobile is on a Pay-As-You-Go tariff, then these charges will come out of your credit balance.
You should always have the permission of the person who pays the bill before you use a phone, especially when requesting premium services.
