Compatibility Issues
Not all mobile phones can display SMS messages containing clickable links; likewise, not all accept Java™ file downloads.
Because all phones/networks operate differently, we cannot guarantee that your particular mobile will be compatible.

SMS LINK TEXTS

Our Text to You  Your mobile should have no problem receiving our auto-reply SMS containing the link to our special mobile-version website, however not all phones are capable of displaying clickable links. You may need to select a special command from the list of options on your phone, such as Open, Go, Go To, Cut Address, Link, Use Details or something similar, in order to follow the link; or you may simply have to type the full link address into your mobile’s WAP browser. Please consult the manufacturer’s user manual for specific functionality information for your handset model.
Please note that you will be charged for our text even if your phone cannot display a clickable link and/or if it cannot download/install TXTguides files.

OVER-THE-AIR DOWNLOADS

Downloading  Please check first that your mobile is compatible with Java™ applications before you attempt to download TXTguides files.
Ski-Ride don’t charge for TXTguides, but your network provider may charge you for data-transfer. Each TXTguides file is less than 170 kilobytes.
If you are using a Pay-As-You-Go phone, you must have sufficient credit available to cover the data-transfer for web browsing and file download.
Once you arrive at our mobile website, go to the ‘Get TXTguides’ page to view available titles, then select a title to begin the download procedure.
Please note that your network provider may charge you for data-transfer even if you cannot install the TXTguides files.

PHONE MEMORY CAPACITY

Saving TXTguides  During the download/transfer procedure, your phone will prompt you to save your chosen TXTguides files in one of your phone’s folders: your Games or Applications folders are best. Sometimes, only the ‘Others’ or ‘Downloads’ folders may be available; these are fine, you can install the files to your Games or Applications folder afterwards.
Your phone may only be able to store a few downloads, in which case you may need to delete some previous downloads in order to accommodate TXTguides. Otherwise, providing that you have sufficient memory space on your phone, you can save the whole library of TXTguides; meaning you can travel with all the titles needed to cover even the largest linked ski areas.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Mobile phone handsetBilling  If you are on contract billing, any charges for SMS link texts, WAP browsing and/or data-transfer will appear on your next bill or statement; if your mobile is on a Pay-As-You-Go tariff, then these charges will come out of your credit balance.
You should always have the permission of the person who pays the bill before you use a phone, especially when requesting premium services.
